Customer’s story – Desalination facility at Hadera, Shikun U’Binui
The project: Establishment of the largest facility of its kind in the world, which produces 130 million cubic meters of drinking water annually, at a total capacity of 120 megawatts, 2010.
Shikun U’Binui constructed the building, Inter Electric was selected as sub-contractor for electrical systems, including detailed planning and implementation: sub-stations for upper voltage, two large transformers (of 63 megawatts each), 22 small transformers (of 3.5 megawatts each), switching equipment of 161 kilowatts, 200 kilometers of underground copper cables, manufacture and supply of high and low voltage power boards and control boards, main electricity room at a total capacity of 11.5 watts and more. The work was performed according to the EPC model – Engineering, Procurement and Construction.

What was your impression of the company?
“We succeeded in reaching very good optimization of the planning, the work was of a very high level and there was a consistent adherence to schedules. I enjoyed the cooperation very much, and particularly the personal involvement of the management in every project. When the owner is present at every meeting, it is obvious that things look different. It is unusual and it contributes a great deal. You don’t see this from everyone. Arieh is like the conductor of an orchestra – of workers. I discovered that he knows how to work with diverse work styles. My style is full transparency, and we got along extremely well”.
What are the strong attributes of Inter Electric?
“At Inter you see something that doesn’t exist at other companies of contractors, and I know a lot of them: The workers and team leaders feel as though the business is theirs and they come with high motivation and concern. Everyone gains from this. There is an atmosphere of work and cooperation and a desire to solve problems together. Something good has been built there. The bottom line is that you will get from them service exactly the way you need it. In many places, it is convenient for me to put Inter in as the contractor for electrical systems?”
